A large group of us went to Heritage Inn for their Mothers' Day lunch. The standard of service and management's attitude to complaints were appalling. Insufficient staff meant that 3 of our group were acting as waitresses to help the group to be fed! Management offered a paltry 5% discount on the price when various complaints were raised saying that the guests had "volunteered" and that there was no charge for service! The food was laid out in a buffet style help-yourself layout but management refused to allow guests to help themselves. We occupied 3 tables but no menus were provided so we were unaware of potentially life-threatening ingredients in the meals. We were told that the Avocado Delight was an avocado salad but it was prawn and avocado! The plain rice and roast potatoes were hard and undercooked and the fruit salad was still frozen in parts! The food ran out so guests choice of meals were limited. On the way out there were at least 2 unlight lights on the stairs leaving them very poorly lit which is obviously a health and safety issue due to the fact that they could hardly been seen and several elderly ladies and very young children had to use them. Management should have cancelled the bookings or warned guests in advance. This poor service had been encountered before by one of our guests so it was not a one off. If this business wishes to survive the recession they need to rethink the structure and organisation of the business.

The food is delightful! Authenticity is the key to any dining experience. The Heritage Inn provides such an experience. I left having been more than satisfied with my food. I would recommend the Brown Stew. The Guiness Punch is delicious and makes you feel 'alright'. The traditionally prepared plantain is simply so 'moreish'. I recommend those looking for a Carribean experience visit the Inn on a Friday night and you will be stimulated by the food, the bar and the justifed prices that are easy on the pocket.
