The meeting has apparently sparked a flurry of phone calls and text messages between the two celebrities, who separated almost a year ago.

The gossip in Hollywood is that the 26-year-old's current girlfriend, actress Jessica Biel, is terrified she is going to lose her man to the Charlie's Angels star.

Rumours: Could Justin and Cameron be rekindling their old romance?

It is thought that Justin bumped into Cameron, 35, while they were both out shopping on Rodeo Drive in LA at the end of October.

Since then the pair have been chatting on the phone and Cameron has been left wondering if there might still be a spark between them.

A friend of the actress told Grazia magazine that the ex-lovers had been in close contact.

"It was by total chance that they bumped into each other," she said.

"But, before they knew it, Cam and Justin were laughing, joking and reminiscing about the past."

However, it seemed that a quick catch-up in the street was not enough for the old flames.

That same day Justin apparently called Cameron and the pair spoke for hours.

The pop star's enthusiasm to get back in contact with his ex-girlfriend has left 25-year-old Jessica fearing that she is going to lose her boyfriend, who she has been dating for 10 months

Especially after Cameron apparently confided to friends that she had been wondering if she and Justin could start again.

"They talked for hours, about anything and everything," added the friend.

"Like a lot of women who meet up with an ex they still care about, Cameron did wonder what the call was about.

"After that they started calling and texting regularly."

Justin and Cameron had a four-year relationship which was rumoured to have come to an end due to the Cameron's reluctance to get married.

A friend of Jessica's revealed just how worried she was about the renewed contact between the pair.

The Justin and Jessica met at the Golden Globe Awards ten months ago

"She has told friends she believes it was disrespectful of Justin to assume it would be okay for him to resume a friendship with an ex without taking into account her feelings.

"No one could blame her for not wanting to feel like she's being taken for granted."

However, sources close to Justin have said that he made it clear to Cameron during one of their phone calls that he is committed to Jessica.
