A tale of two Sex and the Cities: Plans for another sequel for Carrie & Co

The first Sex And The City film has yet to hit the big screen but the producers are so confident of its success that they are already planning a sequel.

The four stars – Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon – who have been filming Sex And The City: The Movie on the streets of New York for the past two months, have the option to make a follow-up written into their contracts and all four are keen to cash in on the success of the hit TV series.

"The producers are already working on a script for a second movie, they are so convinced the first will be a hit," says my on-set spy.

"They are exercising the sequel option in all of the stars' contracts. They want it to be a franchise and think they can stretch it over at least three movies."

Sex And The City: The Movie is due to premiere in spring next year.

In the film, Parker's character Carrie marries her on-off lover Mr Big – although publicity shots from the set suggest that Carrie's big day ends in tears.

Let's hope the stylish protagonist finds love in the second instalment.
