A washed out Sharon Stone shows age has caught up with her

Sharon Stone seems to have adopted a more laid-back attitude to her beauty routine recently as not even a brightly coloured bandana was enough to disguise the actress's fading looks.

Sporting deep red lipstick and a classic black mac, the Basic Instict star was spotted leaving an LA restaurant looking worn out as her 49 years have started to show.

Famous for her stunning beauty and sexy figure, Stone's casual approach was a far cry from her glamorous red carpet appearance at an AIDS dinner in Rome only two months ago.

Perhaps now that she has devoted more of her time to charity work, her appearance has taken a back seat.

The actress shot to fame in 1992 following her risque perfomance in Basic Instinct, a role that launched her career and led to more sexy leads.

What a difference a year makes: Sharon's fresh faced beauty seems to be disappearing

Since her career has slowed down, she has been touring the world, shining as a spokes person at a number of charity events, including raising funds for AIDS.

Stone attributes her success to the steamy role, saying: "I'm really glad that the fame and the clout that Basic Instinct brought me has allowed me to make other pictures and to do humanitarian work."
