Alesha Dixon's strictly dancing till 2am

Alesha Disxon has had a lot of stick over her appointment as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing. But she didn't let that affect her performance on the dancefloor when she busted some moves at the Movida nightclub to celebrate her birthday.

Stepping out: birthday girl Alesha Dixon at Movida

Alesha turned (cover your eyes, BBC execs) 31 yesterday and last night she first headed to Crazy Bear in Fitzrovia with a group of her close pals. After Crazy Bear, the gang headed to Movida in Soho. But before going in Alesha couldn't resist popping into department store Liberty across the road and snapping up a few sale bargains.

Our mole in the club said: "Alesha was in a great mood, drinking champagne with her friends in the VIP area. She spent most of the night on the dancefloor, and reminded everyone why she won Strictly in 2007. She really can move."

Alesha was rather wobbly when she left Movida at 2am. The appointment of the ex-Mis-Teeq singer sparked an ageism row at the BBC when she replaced 66-year-old Arlene Phillips, but let's be honest — how many other Strictly judges would you see partying until the early hours?
