End of road for Ewan
Metro Updated 00:00am on 30 Jul 2004Film stars Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman biked into New York last night, completing an epic round-the-world journey.
Star Wars actor McGregor and Boorman, who was in 1981 film Excalibur, began their quest to circumnavigate the world by motorbike in April.
From London, McGregor, 33, and 37-year-old Boorman travelled 20,000 miles through Europe, Russia, Siberia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Alaska and across North America.
Their adventure was filmed for a seven-part documentary, Long Way Round, to be screened later in the year.
They also teamed up with the United Nations Children's Fund, Unicef, for charity events along the way.
'As fathers, Charley and I have an understanding of children's needs and this trip offered us the opportunity to help Unicef,' McGregor said.
