Kate Moss has been linked to a host of bad boy celebrities - and today she is said to have found romance with drug-addicted rock star Pete Doherty. According to friends, the supermodel and the ex-Libertines frontman were "all over each other" at her 31st birthday party.

Now there is speculation the two icons of the fashion and rock world may have united to form one of the London scene's most explosive couples. The party, with a rock'n'roll circus-theme, was at her Cotswold home. The model, who is said to be "smitten", then invited Doherty for lunch with her family the following day.

A source at the party told The Sun: "Kate and Pete were all over each other. They were sitting on each others' laps all evening. They only had eyes for each other, and were almost oblivious to everyone else."

The pair are known for their party lifestyles. But while Moss is a fixture at the top events on London's party circuit, the 25-year-old rocker is known as much for his drug problems as his musical talent.

The source added: "Kate is attracted to Pete because he is dangerous, exciting, creative and very talented. His present was a copy of the lyrics to one of his songs, What Katie Did, written on an envelope and framed. She was thrilled with it, she thought it was really romantic."

Doherty got on stage to perform the song, which is about a girl's drug addiction.

The model, wearing yellow hotpants and a jewelled bra top for the party on Saturday, also performed a duet with singer Pearl Lowe. In recent years she has dated actors Johnny Depp and Daniel Craig and rock stars Evan Dando and Liam Gallagher.

Father-of-one Doherty was named Cool Icon of 2004 by NME. But his inability to kick a crack and heroin habit led to him being kicked out of the band. Moss split from publisher Jefferson Hack, with whom she has a two-year-old daughter, Lila, last year but they reportedly got back together at Christmas.
