How they could look?

Welcome to the Little Simpsons

In the town of Darkly Noone, incomprehensible teenager Vicky Pollard is getting ready to cause mayhem with Bart Simpson, while doughnut-loving Homer is set for a dressing down from Marjorie Dawes at Fat Fighters.

Yeah but no but yeah but, honestly... Little Britain could be heading to Springfield. Simpsons creator Matt Groening is hooked on the cult BBC comedy and wants its catchphrase-laden characters - including 'invalid' Andy and his carer Lou, plus Daffyd 'Only Gay In The Village' Thomas - to pay a visit.

Groening said: 'I love Little Britain, I love it - especially that schoolgirl. I don't know the names of all the characters but I love the whole thing. It's really funny and exciting - and it's also arousing.

'It would be great to get them on The Simpsons. They are already like cartoon characters.'

Little Britain's David Walliams, who plays rubbish transvestite Emily Howard and camp prime ministerial aide Sebastian Love, said he was 'extremely excited'. He told the latest edition of Nuts magazine, out today: 'Matt Groening is one of the most important comedy figures ever.

'It's amazing to hear him say such good things about us. He must be a man of great taste.'

The Simpsons, now in its 16th year, holds the record for the most celebrities featured in a cartoon series.

Other British names who have appeared with the dysfunctional family include Paul McCartney, Tony Blair and Elton John.
