Besotted: Kate Moss

I'm in love with my toyboy

If she only wanted a holiday fling, Kate Moss must be a little disappointed.

The 31-year-old model has told friends she could be in love with Jamie Burke, the 20-year-old former public schoolboy who joined her on her skiing break.

Miss Moss, who has been out of drug rehabilitation for two months after being pictured snorting cocaine with then boyfriend Pete Doherty, is said to be besotted with Burke.

They met three weeks ago on Richard Branson's private Caribbean island Necker. 'She says he is just what she needs as, after Pete Doherty, he makes her feel normal again,' said one source.

'Despite being so much younger than her, he has a real public school cockiness and she loves the way he orders her about. She says she has never felt this way about a man before.

'She has given him a lock of her hair which he carries in his wallet and he tells her that he wants to look after her and help her get over everything she has been through.

'They have even been talking about how he will go and live with her in Los Angeles. They are going at a ridiculously fast pace - Kate can't seem to realise that she is in lust but not love.'

Sources say Burke has made Miss Moss so much happier that she is finally ready to return to England, where police are waiting to interview her over the cocaine incident.

Friends remain sceptical about the relationship. When she met rock singer Doherty a year ago they were so 'in love' that he asked her to marry him after just two weeks. Miss Moss ended the relationship a month ago after Doherty walked out of the rehab clinic she had paid for him to attend.

Peter Stoker of the National Drugs Prevention Alliance said Miss Moss should be wary about starting another relationship when she should be concentrating on her recovery.

She returned to her rented Los Angeles home on Monday while Burke went back to New York where he has been trying to establish himself as a musician.
