Chantelle: close to Preston in the house

Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton insisted today that she would be happy for singer Preston if speculation that he is to marry his girlfriend proves correct.

The Essex girl refused to confirm that the pair had been an item but said their experience in the house had been "unbelievable".

It was reported today that Ordinary Boys frontman Preston had proposed to long-term girlfriend Camille Aznar, despite him admitting last weekend that he loved both girls.

Chantelle, 22, told GMTV: "I've not seen him since leaving the house. If that's true (about him getting engaged) then I'm obviously happy for them.
"I wish them good luck."

She said Preston, 24, was one of the "most genuine blokes" anyone could wish to meet, adding: "I don't know anyone who'd say they did not have a soft spot for him."

But she replied "no comment" to questions about what she would do if he suggested the pair run off together.

She added: "It was a really close environment (in the house).

"If you are lucky enough to go in there and come out and find a friend, that's amazing.

"As I said, I never thought I would be winning, but really we are all in a competition and we are against each other, so to have somebody there you can trust and be with and be really good friends with, is unbelievable."

But Chantelle had few nice things to say about fellow contestant in the house George Galloway, describing him as a "bully".

She said she and Preston had felt attacked by the Respect MP, adding: "George Galloway is a little cheat, isn't he?"
