Singer George Michael is to be interviewed by police over claims he collided with three parked cars while behind the wheel of his Range Rover in Highgate, north London, and then drove off without informing the owners

A representative of the popstar reported the accident to officers a day after the smash took place.

The Daily Mirror said witnesses rushed from their houses after hearing a loud crash and saw the 42-year-old former Wham star driving a Range Rover and staring at a dented grey Ford Fiesta.

They claimed the singer then drove away but hit the rear of a second parked car, a white Peugeot 204. The impact shunted the Peugeot into the back of a third stationary vehicle, a green Rover 218.

Onlookers further alleged that Michael drove away without finding the car owners to exchange insurance details with them, the newspaper added.

The accident in Hornsey Lane, said to have happened less than a mile from Michael's home, was reported to police at 8.10am on Monday.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "A representative of the registered owner of the vehicle has attended a north London police station to notify police of the incident.

"An appointment has been made to speak to the registered owner in due course."
Michael's spokeswoman was unavailable for comment.

In February, police arrested Michael on suspicion of possessing drugs after he was found slumped at the wheel of a car at Hyde Park Corner in central London.

He was later cautioned for possessing cannabis.
