Pete favourite to take BB crown

Pete, followed by Aisleyne and Glyn, are favourites to take the £100,000 Big Brother crown tonight.

Tonight's hotly-awaited ceremony will mark the end of a marathon 13-week battle for popularity in the iconic house.

Former housemates are expected to join huge crowds at the evictions in Elstree tonight.

Gay Canadian waiter Richard, screeching blonde Nikki and former Miss Crewe Jennie are completely out of the race, according to bookies.

Pete, who won over the public's affections from the beginning, still remains a hot favourite.

But the Tourette's Sufferer has been losing ground to self-styled "ghetto girl" Aisleyne and Welsh-speaking Glyn, who are second and third favourites respectively according to William Hill.

Three of the remaining housemates are expected to be booted out in the first Live Final, and three more in the second.

Bets are expected to top £6 million as the reality show enters its denouement, with all previous reality TV betting records smashed.

William Hill alone has received over £1.2 million worth of bets to date and predicts a further £1 million staked on the final day.

Last night, Glyn received his exam results - an A in Art A-Level, B in History AS-Level, and E in English and Welsh A-Level, which he did not complete after being selected for the show.

Big Brother told the 18-year-old he had secured a place at Bangor university in north Wales.

Meanwhile, housemates have started to feel the nerves as the countdown to the final evictions begins.

Despite accusations that the show was losing its way, tantrums, a romance, backstabbing and tears ensured viewing figures were up this year.

So far the series has pulled in 4.6 million viewers on average, compared to 4.5 million last year.

I've been secretly keeping up to date via websites etc. Pete went down in my estimation when he threw his lot in with Nikki... and the odd talk about 'visions' and his clear determination to win. Although he is a sound bloke, great fun, very creative and... good-looking - and inspite of any criticisms I have of him, he still comes out as the clear winner. Glyn is great and has certainly matured nicely. Aisleyne's had to take on a lot of criticism and, I think, has shown herself to be a fallible human being (like us all). Richard's great and says what needs to be said which takes guts and self-belief - I'm surprised he's not more popular than he is. Nikki - spoilt troll! Imagine working or living with someone like that - I think Pete will live to regret it! So - I'd like to see Pete, Aisleyne, Glyn, Richard and Jennie in that order. But I think it'll be a close run thing.

I think Nikky should win. She may be acting now that she knows what it was the public liked about her but overall she has been the most entertaining. Just hope she is not booed at when ahe comes out! It will be quite embarrasing.

I want Richard to win! He well deserves it. Because there is no other person like him. Pete is saying he does not want to win but in is too obvious that he does care a lot about it; Glyn is no different that any other teenager from a village who did not see anything in life at all.
