Caprice was displaying no signs of being drunk other than having alcohol breath when she was arrested for drink-driving, a court heard.

The model, whose real name is Caprice Bourret, has admitted drink-driving, but said a prescription drug she was taking affected her ability to get alcohol out of her system.

PC Paul Flashman said he did not recognise the 34-year-old but smelled alcohol on her breath when he pulled her over in the early hours of December 10 for a faulty light.

She had drunk a bottle and a half of wine at lunch and several more glasses at a party in the evening.

Yesterday, her lawyer Nick Freeman, nicknamed Mr Loophole for his success in dealing with clients' drink-driving cases, said the model, of Camden North London, should not get the usual one-year ban for a first offence.

'Nobody is suggesting she was displaying any symptoms at all other than alcohol halitosis,' he said. The judge at Highbury magistrates court in North London will sentence Caprice on Friday.

Caprice probably needed a 'bracer' to face the Camden Beak, maybe 'hair of the pooch'. Anyway, if she only had the one and a half bottles for lunch it shows she has no problem, a problem drinker would never leave half a bottle of vino at lunch... or even beakfast for that matter.
