Calum Best and Bianca Gascoigne were crowned king and queen of ITV's Love Island. The son and stepdaughter of footballing legends George Best and Paul Gascoigne won the public vote in the grand final of the celebrity reality TV show.

They beat their fellow contestants, television presenter Kate Lawler, Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole and Former girl band Eternal member Kelle Bryan, to the title on the idyllic Fijian resort.

Late arrival Kate, who shot to fame as a Big Brother winner, was the first to be voted out last night, missing out on the chance to be one half of the golden couple. Presenters Patrick Kielty and Fearne Cotton then revealed the winners of the public vote.

Emerging from the resort to a fan fare and multi coloured ticker tape, Bianca said: "I'm an emotional wreck, I'm really shaky."

The 19-year-old said her time on the island had been "a rollercoaster" but said she wouldn't take any of it back.

She refused to be drawn on which of the men on the island that she had been romantically entangled with - Calum or The Streets musician Leo Ihenacho- was the one for her.

"That is not even on my mind right now, I'm just so happy to be sitting here right now, I just want to enjoy the day," she said.

Latecomer Calum was flown in after Bianca said she wanted to find love with with a Calum Best clone, and the couple were voted into the Love Shack within hours.

The model said he and Bianca were thrown into the deep end and he had stepped out of the situation when it became uncomfortable.

"We've got back to being friends and we've won it as mates," he said. The 25-year-old, who also starred in the first series, added: "I've done my time on the old Love Island."

Runners-up Kelle and Brendan said they had so many highlights in the seven weeks the stars had been holed up in the luxury resort.

Of their relationship, dancer Brendan said: "We're really similar, we are two people that connected, we're great together as friends, there's no romantic link."

Religious Kelle, who was looking forward to being back among other Christians and being naked in her own home, said she had "so many amazing times" during the ITV reality show.
