Sir Paul and Heather's secret peace talks

Updated 12:22pm on 4 Sep 2006

Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have held secret peace talks for the sake of their daughter over their bitter break-up.

After months of public fighting, it is believed a truce may have now been declared after the singer invited his estranged wife to his mansion in exclusive East Hampton, New York, last week.

It came after concerns were raised about how their acrimonious divorce was affecting their two-year-old daughter Beatrice.

Documentary claims Heather could net £100m

Beatrice's tears as she's torn between warring McCartneys

Beatrice is reported to be throwing tantrums because she is finding it hard to come to terms with the fact that her parents are not together anymore.

It was the first meeting between the former Beatle, 64, and 38-year-old Heather for 70 days since they saw each other at Beatrice's nursery in Sussex.

Heather's agent Phill Hall said: "I suggested to Sir Paul he organsie a truce to clear the air."

The couple talked alone for 40 minutes as they tried to bury the hatchet.

Their divorce has been one of the most bitter in celebrity history.

A friend siad: "Both of them have very different views as to why their marriage collapsed. But they agree the most important thing is little Beatrice.

"For her, they want to go down a more amicable path."

Well it looks like the loathsome Heather has finally achieved what she set out to do, and that would appear to be getting her hands on other people's money.

To be honest, I am not surprised as an X who knew her quite well in a previous life, of say 10 years, maintained that she was always quite confident that she would go far. I can only hope that this means in location.

About time they started talking and working things out!

Apparently Ms. Mills and her PR flack need a dictionary. Both do not seem to understand the meaning of the word 'secret'. It's sad that both will stop at nothing in their egotistical quest to soil Paul's public image.
