Marcia Cross anf Tom Mahoney married last year
Desperate housewives star Marcia Cross is pregnant - at the age of 44. The actress, who
married stockbroker Tom Mahoney earlier this year, confirmed her pregnancy last night.
She is busy filming the next series and it was
unclear whether her pregnancy would be written
into the script.
Cross plays uptight mother-of-two Bree in the
Emmy award-winning comedy, which is on
Channel 4 and will start airing its new season in
America on 24 September. The baby is due in April, she told People magazine.
Cross and Mahoney, a 48-year-old stockbroker,
married in California in June after dating for
more than a year.
Among the guests were fellow Housewives Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman, with her actor husband William H Macy.
The children of some of Cross's closest friends
served as the seven flower girls and she spent the
morning of her wedding happily swimming with
them in the pool of her hotel. This baby will be
her first child.
Before meeting Mahoney, Cross dated actor Richard Jordan, who died from a brain tumour in 1993.
After his death, she remained resolutely single for many years and, as Desperate Housewives gained popularity, she fought off reports that she was a lesbian.
At the time of Cross's engagement to Mahoney,
Longoria said: "It's beautiful to see her this
happy and so in love."
