The picture that has raised concerns about Kate Bosworth's shrinking weight

Superman actress Kate Bosworth reveals shocking skeletal frame

Updated 15:37pm on 4 Oct 2006

This shocking picture of actress Kate Bosworth's emaciated chest will increase concern about her weight and health.

The 23-year-old, said to be heartbroken after spliting from long-term boyfriend Orlando Bloom, startled fellow guests at a New York party with her skeletal frame.

Chatting to fellow actress Kirsten Dunst at a party at New York's Milk Gallery and Penthouse, every bone in her chest can be seen sticking out.

The star is said to have been living on a diet of caffeine and nicotine since her recent split with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, who she'd been with for four years.

Her shrinking size has since become the focus of attention in Hollywood.

Like other women in the spotlight, the Superman Return's star appears to have succumbed to the pressure of being super skinny.

Fellow celebrity Nicole Richie, daughter of Lionel Richie, is also at the centre of concerns that she is anorexic, which she strenuously denies.

Kate and Orlando were set to appear in the Great Depression-themed independent film drama, Seasons of Dust. But since the split, the film has been put on hold and Kate has moved on to other projects.

Why the big deal? If it were one of us, who'd care?

The picture in question is somewhat creepy-- it is hard to tell what we are looking at. As cleavage shots go, it is not terribly flattering, but personally I don't see the shocking skeletal frame to which the article alludes.

If she wants to starve herself, let her! These celebrities are so out of touch with reality anyway that they probably don't know what an 'acceptable' weight really is! The only thing that bothers me is that these 'stars' are role-models for our kids, but there are more important things in this world to worry about!
