Tory Spelling is starting her own dynasty

The daughter of television titan Aaron Spelling is starting her own dynasty.

Former Beverly Hills 90210 star Tori Spelling is expecting her first child, five months after marrying her second husband, Canadian actor Dean McDermott.

Spelling, 33, is 14 weeks pregnant, according to American sources, and she and her husband are planning a big family.

"They're so excited," a friend of the couple told People magazine. "They're so happy."

Spelling and McDermott, 39, met in Canada last summer when they made a televison film together.

They were both married to other people at the time, and McDermott has an eight-year-old a son, Jack, and he and his wife, Mary Jo Eustace, had just adopted a baby daughter, Lola.

After their quiet wedding in Fiji McDermott said: "The feeling is overwhelming. We're soul mates. We're gong to make a baby. We want to have nine kids!"

Spelling added: "He likes to play hockey so we're going to make a hockey team."

Rumours that she was pregnant gathered strength last month when she and her husband went to Jamaica for a celebrity golf tournament.

She was not drinking, wearing loose clothes to hide the beginning of a baby bump and slept a lot.

At the time she said coyly: "You get so tired here. It's the air. It just puts you to sleep early, which is nice."

Spelling's father, the creator of dozens of television shows including Dynasty, Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat and Fantasy Island, died in June, aged 83.

She has been feuding with her mother, Candy, who reportedly blocked her from producing a documentary about her father by refusing to let her use archive material of his shows.

Candy is believed to be in control of her late husband's fortune, estimated at up to £270 million from which Tori inherited only £430,000.
