Happy couple: Matt Lucas and his boyfriend Kevin McGee

His massive array of outrageous outfits made Little Britain's Matt Lucas a cult figure in the world of television comedy.

Now he is planning to don one of his most flamboyant costumes to date for his pantomime-themed wedding day this Christmas.

The comedian and his boyfriend Kevin McGee plan to walk down the aisle in fancy dress to celebrate the "best of British pantomime" for their civil partnership ceremony.

The pair have not yet chosen their costumes, but are thought to be considering dressing as Captain Hook, Mother Goose or Aladdin.

Guests at the star-studded bash will include Lucas's Little Britain co-star David Walliams, Sir Elton John, Pet Shop Boys musician Neil Tennant and comedian Vic Reeves. They are all expected to dress up in panto costume.

"It's a Christmas wedding and Matt and Kevin thought it would be hysterical to have a Christmas panto theme and have everyone dress up," a showbiz source told the Daily Mirror.

"They were determined that their special day wouldn't be a stuffy, formal day, but wanted to have a laugh with their guests."

Two swanky London venues have provisionally been booked for the wedding - Banqueting House in Whitehall and the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall.

A date for the wedding has not been confirmed by the couple, but the bash is expected to be held in mid-December, after the Little Britain Live tour.
