Singer Amy Winehouse has admitted she is a nasty drunk after confessing to hitting a woman fan at one of her gigs.
The 23-year-old lashed out at the Proud Gallery in London.
She said: "This girl came up to me and said I was brilliant. Two seconds later, she turned to my boyfriend, pointed at me and said, 'She f***** up'.
"So I punched her right in the face - which she wasn't expecting, because girls don't do that."
Amy then added that she kneed her boyfriend between the legs and punched him in the face when he tried to calm her down.
"When I've been on the booze recently, it's turned me into a really nasty drunk," she said.
But she also says that all the boozing has helped her shed the pounds.
"I drink a lot and sometimes forget to eat," she said.

She is no role model for our youth.

I agree with Paul Jazzed, Amy is one of the finest singers I have ever heard. My only hope for her is to get well, I really mean it. And I hope her boyfriend would not be a bad influence for her. Hope she wakes up and realize what she is doing with her body, voice, and life. I know she is brilliant and smart. Just love her voice and her lyrics, may she be singing for a long life.

Amy is the best thing I've heard in years. I hope she can get through this part of her life without it affecting her writing and singing genius. Anyone who has an ear for a good thing knows we're on to something special. Long may she go on.

Everyone always complains about celebrities (most of the time female celebrities) for losing weight. At the end of the day it's their own choice as to how they want to look. Would you like everyone talking about how you look all the time?

I had never heard of Amy until I watched Paul Weller at the Electric Proms on BBCi.
Many thanks to Paul for introducing her to the world by bringing her on stage to sing.
When I heard her sing I thought wow what a voice.
I am a Rare Soul and RnB fan and record collector and known as a Mod so her influences and singing style are familiar to me.
Yes she does look very different in the two pictures but all that matters is that she is happy with herself which I am sure she is.
Assault charges can only be brought if the attacked brings charges which looks like has not happened so in my view it was just one of those things that boozing brings.
Amy seems an intelligent lady so she will learn from the experience.
Go get 'em Amy and kick the critics where it will hurt them the most... in the crotch!

Why isn't she being charged with assault? Does "zero tolerance" only apply to violent men?

What a waste of a perfect body that some men would die for! I used to be really into her now all I can see is skeletor, I really hopes she wakes up and smells the coffee and get back on track with what she does best not only sing great but look it!

Looks at those photos! When are these people going to realize that curves look so much better?

What a total headcase, I really liked her attitude before, but now she has gone too far with everything... The booze, weight, eyeliner and tatoos! UGH

Oh dear. Clearly some problems here. Alcoholic, anger AND an eating disorder. I hope she gets some help.

With a single dessert and just two glasses of wine our bill was kept in check - but the effort of doing so was not much fun
