Tom Jones
Before and after: Tom is learning to love his lines

Tom Jones looking his age at last

Updated 12:39pm on 23 Nov 2006

His plastic surgeon recently suggested it was time to aim for a more natural look. And it seems Sir Tom Jones has taken his advice.

Strolling through the streets of Beverly Hills, the 66-year-old singer certainly looked a little more lived-in than usual. A crop of expression lines has appeared where only four years ago there was nothing but plumped up skin.

Earlier this year Sir Tom said he had been warned his face would collapse if he had more plastic surgery. Last night cosmetic surgeon Alex Karidis agreed. 'Years of sun damage from the harsh Californian sun has not done Tom's Welsh skin much good,' he said.

'He also has very prominent dynamic lines caused from where the muscles in the face contract and tighten, as well as very pronounced laughter lines. But no amount of surgery could eradicate these lines and at his age the last thing I would recommend is more surgery. A spot of Botox is the only thing that might help reduce the wrinkling.'

Sir Tom is said to have had operations worth £30,000 on his face over the years, including an eyelift, teeth capping and fat removed from under his chin.

But those days could be over, he has suggested. 'I went to see a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills and he said: "You've got to be careful with your eyes." He advised me against having anything else done. He said I should try to look as natural as I can.'

I recently saw Tom in concert in Newcastle and although he may be 66 he really does not look like it.
He was in great shape and voice. Tom is looking better now than ever. Keep on going Tom, the women still love you!
