Elton's tribute: the piece was originally written in memory of Marilyn Monroe, but after Diana's death the lyrics were reworked by Bernie Taupin

Sir Elton John once vowed never to play his tribute to Diana - Candle In The Wind - again after performing it at her funeral.

Now the star is taking to the stage at Prince William and Prince Harry's concert in memory of the Princess, the audience will be wondering whether they will get to hear the famous song live once again.

Elton's 15 F-words in a minute as he rants at his record label

The piece was originally written in memory of Marilyn Monroe, but after Diana's death the lyrics were reworked by Bernie Taupin in her honour.

Sir Elton played the piano and sang the new words at the Princess's funeral at Westminster Abbey.

He began with the opening line "Goodbye England's Rose", changed from "Goodbye Norma Jean".

The 1997 record remains the biggest-selling single of all time.

A spokesman for Sir Elton said today: "We're not saying anything about it."

No, please, Elton, do us all a favour and don't sing it again. It was bad enough the first time around.
