Peaches has one Elle of a pop at Madonna

Peaches Geldof clearly doesn't know how to respect royalty. The 17-year-old, who's famous for being... well Sir Bob Geldof 's daughter, decided to have a go at the Queen of Pop at the Elle Style Awards last night.

Peaches branded Madonna, who was awarded the Style Icon award but failed to show up to collect it, "irrelevant" and claimed "she's mutton dressed as lamb".

Peaches - who coincidentally didn't pick up any gongs, was escorted by her style disaster of a boyfriend Fred Les and managed to show off a little bit more than she wanted when leaving the bash - said: "In the Eighties Madonna was a style icon but now she's rehashing everything that's been done already.

"I am definitely not a fan - she looks like mutton dressed as lamb. She is just not relevant now. She's up there on a pedestal and that's why people are honouring her, but it's not right."

Celebrities Peaches does count as style icons are The OC star Mischa Barton and actress Chloe Sevigny. Peaches added: "They're the real people we should be celebrating tonight. They are the people that young girls look at today and they really influence us - not like Madonna. Elle Style need to step it up and chose someone more relevant next year."

At least Peaches is in agreement with fellow gobby youngster (and daughter of a famous bloke) Lily Allen, who has regularly attacked Madonna, 48, for being over the hill. Perhaps this could be a new era or friendship between the two.

Ironically, Peaches has been in the news recently regarding fashion. Last week a newspaper reported that a collection of high-fashion clothes and expensive accessories went missing after a magazine shoot Peaches had starred in - she claimed they had been stolen.

Four days later, however, she was photographed in London wearing clothes that looked remarkably similar to the ones she claimed she had lost.

Last night she remained tightlipped on the subject, saying: "For legal reasons I cannot comment" before walking away giggling.

While Peaches was busy slagging off Madonna, fellow rock princess Kelly Osbourne had a go at Peaches.

Kelly has been photographed with Peaches' on/off squeeze Donny Tourette recently but she claims "we're just friends".

And in a not so thinly-veiled attack on Peaches, added: "He's had enough rocker's daughters anyway so he doesn't need me."

I'll wager some money that Peaches will never accomplish 5% of what Madonna has done.

Madonna - A Style Icon? Sorry people, judging from the picture of Madonna above and looking at those arms, that's a man in drag! Yeuch, not a pretty sight.

Peaches = gobby, irrelevant dullard.

Why can't we read about/hear from inspirational individuals like Dame Ellen MacArthur, rather than spoilt little children who don't yet understand they have absolutely nothing of value to say?

Theresa, I liked that picture of her thumbing down the highway naked as well.

True Royalty from a women who still pushes people's buttons!

Like Jade Goody and Jordan to name but two, Peaches is another proponent of the celebrity "culture" we are subjected to. Obviously someone finds these people interesting otherwise they wouldn’t be published (I see the irony that I am here and commenting on them).

This is not news, this is irrelevant. Please for the sake of the nation and intelligent people, ignore them and there nonsensical bleatings.

I guess that the press need to stop reporting Peaches' comments so that she doesn't get the publicity she so badly craves. What a spoilt little boring brat. Madonna got where she is today on her own - not by hanging on to daddies coat tails.

Madonna, royalty? How about the photograph of her thumbing down the highway naked!

I wonder, can anyone tell me where on earth Peaches gets her extremely big mouth from?

Could it just possibly be inherited?

Obviously Daddy isn't paying enough attention to his baby, and she's decided to spit her dummy out - again!! Stupid child.

Peaches who are you? And what are you known for? Are you a singer, a dancer, an actor? No to all? I thought so. Just because you have famous parents does not give you right to have a go at Madonna or anyone else who is in the 'business'. Therefore either get yourself a carrer, or at least education. You are too young and you think you know it all. One day you will learn in the mean time just go away and grow up!

What the heck does a 17 year old know anyway, and who cares what her opinion is? Let's see how good Peaches and gobby Lily Allen look when they are 48, nowhere near as good as Madonna looks I bet.

Does anyone care what this stupid child has to say? No one will remember her in a year anyway!
