Jade checks into luxury Indian hotel

Jade Goody kicked off her peace-making trip to India by booking herself into a five star hotel.
Her alleged racist bullying of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty in Celebrity Big Brother provoked angry protests in Indian streets.
But the only trouble so far in her trip has been the scrum of Indian journalists all desperate to speak to the 25-year-old.
The celebrity has left boyfriend Jack Tweed, 19, and her two sons Freddy, two, and Bobby, three, at home and is staying at Le Meridien in Delhi.
She said: "I'm here on a private visit, for four days. People have been really nice out here.
"It's private and there are no cameras or anything. I've paid for the trip myself. That's all I want to say."
Asked if she was recognised on the street, the former dental nurse, who is thought to have set off from the UK yesterday, replied: "Yeah, yeah, but people are being so nice."
"I like the food here," she said. "Everyone knows I love an Indian."
Jade, who sparked fury on the streets of India following her row with Shilpa Shetty, is staying at a £190 per-night club room at the hotel, which boasts a swimming pool, spa and Jacuzzi.
Rooms overlook the presidential estate, India Gate and Indian parliament.
Jade's agent Catherine Lister said: "It's a private visit. We're not releasing very much information.
"It's private, funded by Jade herself and not in association with any newspapers or magazines."

This trip is nothing more than a token gesture. To the astute just another publicity stunt masterminded by her agent to revive her flagging image. Zero sincerity.

Berating publicity-seeking Jade is acceptable - those that put themselves in the public eye must accept that some people's views will not be positive. I'm also quite sure those that are hungry enough to be in the tabloids on a regular basis don't care so long as they keep getting the press interviews, photos published and new stories printed about them!

If readers do not have anything nice to say about JG why do they not keep their remarks to themselves? I am sure many of them have said things they regret after a few drinks but have not been pilloried for it.

I think you're all really horrible about that wonderful Jade Goody she is everything that I would like to have in a wife and she is not racist nor is she a self obsessed publicity seeker nor is she potentially the ugliest woman.

Give it a rest, Goody, we all know the score.

This sort of self-serving publicity makes me want to gag. No publicity? Curious to find so many reports of this supposedly "private" trip. How dumb do her minders think we are? Talent is always worth rewarding and paying regard to. But this? Come on! All that BB revealed was what festers beneath the surface once the publicity spinners aren't there.

Well, at least the "Jade visits India", publicity stunt, makes a welcome change from the "Jade is in The Priory" publicity stunt!
