Shamed Naomi cleans up her act
Updated 08:23am on 6 Mar 2007Naomi Campbell will mop floors and sweep corridors for five days as punishment for hitting her maid with a mobile phone, it was reported last night.
The supermodel will be expected to work as a cleaner at a public building in New York in a five-day community service sentence.
The decision, reported in the New York Daily News, would mean her escaping the public humiliation suffered by Boy George last year when he pleaded guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his New York apartment.
The ex-Culture Club singer had to endure the media spotlight as he carried out his punishment, sweeping streets in downtown Manhattan wearing a bright orange jacket.
Last month, Streatham-born Campbell, 36, said she felt 'very remorseful' about throwing a crystal-encrusted phone at Ana Scolavino last year, leaving the maid needing stitches to her head.
Miss Campbell admitted assault in January, was fined £185 and was ordered to do five days' community service.
Her lawyer begged for her to be allowed to work behind closed doors.
A spokesman for Miss Campbell said yesterday: 'Naomi is ready to complete her sentence no matter where or what she is assigned.'

Well whatever and wherever she mops up I bet she will look a million dollars.

It's about all she's fit for. She might as well get the practise in now for when her 'looks' fade; doubt she has had the sense to save much of the ludicrous fees she is paid.
