Pop star Jo O'Meara stepped out in public for the first time since the Big Brother race row tonight when she went to a gala performance in aid of BBC Comic Relief.
O'Meara put on a brave smile for the photographers as she arrived to see Rik Mayall as Alan B'Stard in The New Statesman at the New Wimbledon Theatre in south-west London.
She said: "Comic Relief has always been important to me, it's something I've always done, as a band with S Club (7), and while solo. It's a nice thing to get involved with."
She said she hoped the row over the supposed attitude of herself and Jade Goody to Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty had now run its course.
"I think it's time for me to move on, and concentrate on getting back to work, and I hope the public will feel the same way," she said.
"I've apologised, I've said sorry if I offended anybody, but nothing racist went on in the house - it was bad editing."
The play was on its first night of a national tour, which takes in 14 other venues, finishing at Milton Keynes on July 14.

Will all of you please please get a life!! She hasn't killed a bus load of nuns you know...
Saying things like she should never work again? What's she supposed to do.. starve on the street?
You all seem to be perfect people who have never said something stupid or made a mistake in your lives. How wonderful it must be for you.

She's completely put me off Primark. They should refuse to let her shop there, in the same way football hooligans aren't allowed in certain countries... terrible PR for them!

Bad editing was it? I don't think so. Her PR machine is as transparent as her brain cell.
It all proves that this vulgar nobody has learned absolutely nothing from the BB experience. Still, the public knows what's what - I would imagine her already struggling career is now completely dead in the water.

I so agree with Bea. She NEVER apologised did she... it is a pity not to show any remorse. She just kept lying low until she thought people had forgotten what actually happened. But this is something that people never forget!
- Mm, London
Time we gave her a break. I think she is one of the most talented singers around, I would be happy to see her pick up and go for it. Just be careful - try and "reach for the stars" or "you will never have a dream come true".
Come on Jo "Bring it on back"

It's always 'bad editing', isn't it?
I sense spin doctors hard at work!

"She should NEVER work again!"
That would probably suit her down to the ground, wouldn't it?

Well said Bea! She is a total waste of space and deserves never to work again.

Does anyone care any more? If she wasn't a hasbeen before she went into the house, she's certainly one now.

She's the only one who has never really apologised. She comes out with a huge grin on her face which is miles away from the crying face of the woman who had a nervous breakdown and was 'deeply depressed' 2 minutes ago.
She is the epitome of those revolting parts of 'white trash' Britain that exist in every town and major city. Think you can say what you want, when you want, hide when the heat gots hot and then come out smiling because what you did was not that bad in the first place.
She should NEVER work again!
