Potty Pete Doherty failed to turn up for a gig after spending the day on a rampage.

The Babyshambles frontman was to perform with his pal Lethal Bizzle at Camden's Proud Gallery in London, but let him down.

A source at the club, where he was due to take part in the Another Music =Another Kitchen night, said: “Pete was due to come, but didn't turn up because he was in no state to do anything but go home to bed.”

It was a very brief performance by Pete Doherty

Doherty, 28, was supposed to join Bizzle, who sang with him at his Hackney Empire gig last week, so obviously he was disappointed, as were Pete's former Libertines costar Carl Barat and Peaches Geldof, who had both turned up to see him.

Recovering druggie Pete's crazy day began when he squirted an entire bottle of tomato ketchup at photographers outside his girlfriend Kate Moss's home in St John's Wood.

Later he and Kate set off for the Camden Crawl music festival, where Pete was performing at Studio 88.

Before getting on stage he was spotted necking his favourite tipple, straight gin, outside the venue.

But he smashed up the tiny place.

After singing only six songs, Doherty hurled a speaker into the crowd and stormed off. While he could have injured a fan, it appears he has been harming himself too — he sported a bandaged hand during the gig.

Also at the gig, his girlfriend Kate Moss and her rock-chick in waiting daughter Lila Grace, 4.
