Pete Doherty has insulted the memory of Cambridge graduate Mark Blanco by releasing a video filmed at the flat where he died.

The sick rant in the video is the first time he has spoken of Mark's accidental death, which happened during a party in the notorious East End crack den.

In the video, which Pete has posted on the internet, he tells the camera: 'I just thought I'd pop in to Paulo's, a much-maligned figure, justifiably I suppose'

The 30-year-old budding actor was killed after he fell from a second-floor balcony at the flat in Whitechapel, which belongs to Pete's pal Paul Roundhill.

A police investigation found there were no suspicious circumstances and no-one else was involved.

Doherty was quizzed over the death, which happened after Mark had an argument with 51-year-old Paul, who is also known as 'Paulo Ro'.

In the video, which Pete has posted on the internet, he tells the camera: "I just thought I'd pop in to Paulo's, a much-maligned figure, justifiably I suppose.

"But on the whole, if drugs and suspicious deaths don't get in the way, this place is quite creative for me."

He then launches into a new song he has penned, called The Lost Art Of Murder (Part One).

Doherty's action will infuriate Mark's family, who were never satisfied with the outcome of the police investigation.

The film was made as Doherty, 28, made his way home from Bow Magistrates' Court last week where he appeared before a judge to review his drug order.

Echoing what he told the court, Pete says to the camera he is "trying to stay clean". He adds: "I'm just going home, I just popped in from Bow Magistrates' and I thought I would pop in and say hello to Paulo.

"This is a place I can come and play guitar and all that s**t. I've written a few good songs here, like F*** Forever."

He spent the weekend at fiancee Kate Moss's getaway in the Cotswolds with her and her daughter Lila Grace, four.
