It seems David Beckham has upset LA Galaxy fans already - and that's before he's even set foot on the pitch.

Although the 31-year-old footballer has signed to play for the Californian-based team, he was spotted wearing a Cincinnati Reds cap.

Admittedly the Reds play baseball, but this fashion faux pas is equivalent to a Newcastle fan wearing a rugby shirt from London.

Beckham, who currently plays for Real Madrid, is due to appear on Idol Gives Back later this week - the U.S. answer to Comic Relief, in which celebrities raise awareness about poverty in Africa.

Let's hope he removes the cap before then.
