Gwyneth and Keira join dancing stars in raising £15m for charity on American Idol
Updated 10:23am on 27 Apr 2007A host of A-list celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Keira Knightley and Helen Mirren dusted off their disco moves for an American Idol charity fundraiser.
The star-studded dance montage to 70s hit Staying Alive was shown during a two-part special, called Idol Gives Back, which raised £15 million for charities that aid young people in Africa and the United States.

Keira Knightley gets into the groove
Bono, U2 frontman and spokesperson for ONE Campaign to Make Poverty History, featured in another segment of the program.
He said: "People say you can't be the generation that ends brutal, stupid poverty, but we can and we will.
"I have been in front of 70,000 people here in L.A. and it's a pretty amazing feeling. I can't think of any feeling better except perhaps the feeling that you can save somebody's life and there is not one person watching this program tonight who cannot save a life".

David Schwimmer reunites with Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow, while Miss Piggy, Hugh Laurie and Teri Hatcher also put their support behind the charity event
American Idol judge Simon Cowell said: "It's not preaching. It's just that there are some problems that maybe this show can try to help. Simple as that."
The hugely popular talent show attracts an average of 30 million viewers.
