Rebecca Loos: Beckhams have me to thank for strong marriage

Updated 11:53am on 13 Jul 2007

Rebecca Loos rocked the Beckham's marriage with claims she had a secret affair with David while he was in Madrid

Rebecca Loos, the Beckham's infamous former personal assistant who allegedly had an affair with the football star in 2004, is taking credit for the couple's steadfast marriage.

Her comments come just days after Victoria spoke for the first time about the scandal, describing it as "a really tough time".

In an interview with an American magazine, Loos said: "In a way they should be glad it happened - it's made them stronger. They even went on to have another kind. Everything happens for a reason, even bad things.

She continued: "I think their marriage is stronger than ever and it's like Victoria says, it's bad things like the affair that have made it stronger. Victoria's stuck by David and that's the main thing."

Still, Dutch born Loos, who has just finished starring in a Spanish Survivor-style reality show, warns Victoria to keep a close eye on her husband while in America.

She said: "There are plenty of gorgeous girls in LA - I don't know whether he's going to be a good boy."

The 30-year-old, who is currently single, is pleased that Posh has finally commented on the affair, three years after it first made headlines.

"I'm happy Victoria has spoken out. It seems like she's admitting the affair in an indirect way. She's been living in a fantasy world but this proves she's human after all.

Loos says there's a chance she'll run into the Beckhams in their new hometown of Hollywood.

She said: "I've lots of projects coming up. I love LA and I go every year. It's a bit plastic fantastic, and one week is enough for me there - but some people like that. I think David and Victoria will enjoy LA. They can afford to travel around and not be stuck in the city the whole time."

She added: "I don't know what I'd say if I bumped into the Beckhams. But I'm sure Victoria would talk to me. She's a very direct person and if she's got something to say she'll say it. I'll cross that bridge as and when I need to."

I'm no fan of the Beckhams but God how desperate is this woman?!

I'm sure Victoria is glad it happened too... not! I'm sure you'll be off to seek your fortune in LA as the infamous other woman now Ms Loos. Trevor from London is right... you're riding their coat tails. It's the only way you'll get the minor celebrity you obviously crave. If I were Victoria, it wouldn't be words I'd be exchanging should we bump into each other either. And I can imagine she'd go home and make David's life hell for a good while too.

Talk about riding on someone's coat tails. What's the matter Rebecca are you not being offered places on 3rd rate reality TV shows any more?
