Midford Castle, is a Grade I listed building three miles south of Bath. It was built in 1775 by Henry Disney Rosebuck and is built on a plinth, has battlements, an arched gateway, gatehouse and towers as well as three reception rooms and seven bedrooms.

The property was restored - and modernised inside - by Michael and Isabel Briggs after the couple bought it in 1961 for just £15,000.

It is set in in 35 acres of parkland and 11 acres of woodland and also has two cottages, an orangery, priory and the ruins of a chapel.

The Oscar-winning actor already has a Georgian townhouse in the Circus in Bath.
