The merry-go-round of celebrity endorsements has been circling higher and higher of late with comeback pop superstars Take That donning Marks & Spencer suits to advertise the brand.

Now, the newly-reformed Spice Girls are poised to take a bite of the endorsement pie, as Tesco is reportedly on the verge of a deal to sponsor the group's money-spinning reunion tour.

Posh, Sporty, Scary, Ginger and Baby are set to feature in two "tongue-in-cheek" pre-Christmas television advertisements with the supermarket giant banking on their reunion becoming a success on the scale of their male rivals.

They have already signed a deal to perform at the annual televised catwalk show for racy lingerie brand Victoria's Secret.

As part of the deal, the group's "Greatest Hits" album will be only be available in the U.S. through the lingerie chain for the first two months of its release.

Take That's reunion tour sold out, led to a Brit Award for the single Patience and gave them a hit album.

The Spice Girls capitalised on the reunion fever and announced their own tour. Now Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton could reap £1 million each if the Tesco deal goes ahead.

The supermarket and the Spice Girls are being coy about making the deal public, but are said to be planning an announcement later this week.

The omens so far bode well for the group. Their December tour dates at the O2 arena sold out in 38 seconds and 15 other dates have been added to the world tour.

Originally planning on sticking to the hits they found success with, they are now planning to release a new single next month alongside a greatest hits album.

But their first performance will be for Children In Need - nine years after they last sang together as a five.

Looking at the top picture, Mel C has turned out to be by far the prettier of the Spice Girls. Also her and Emma seem to be the nicer of the pack as well, keeping their lives relatively private and not subjecting us to them every breathing minute.

Surely Tesco's too up market for them isn't it? I'd have thought Kwik Save would be more their level?
