Updated 10:38am on 27 Nov 2007He's famous for battling mythic Egyptian mummies on the big screen, but in real life Brendan Fraser has been fighting a different kind of curse - male pattern baldness.
The 38-year-old actor appears to have gone to rather extraordinary lengths to regain his once full head of tousled brown hair.

Hair raising: Brendan Fraser's hair was thinning severely in 2003; yesterday he stepped out in Shanghai with a full crown
Perhaps it's courtesy of a hair transplant or an old fashioned toupee, but whatever the case, he looked to be rather pleased with the result, giving fans a thumbs up as he left the studio.

He is a decent person but very blind when it comes to Natalia. I wander if I should tell him myself or should she...Get the hint Natty!

Who the hell can control baldness? It is a hereditary condition. He's hot, hairplugs or not. Brendan is a fine specimen of a man!!!!! We don't pick on chemo patients that lose their hair because of medication, why pick on people who can not control what their hair folicles do. It's not as it BJF asked to go bald. I am sure he didn't wake up one morning and say "God, a lot of people find me incredibly attractive. I hate that, so would you please make my hair fall out so that I can get transplants, and then people can make fun of me?" Gimme a break. I got a kidney/pancreas transplant in 2008. I couldn't control what my organs did any more that what balding people can control what their bodies do to them. Give him a break. By far the best and most versitile actor I have ever seen or ever been slightly obsessed with!!!
