It seems Joan Collins's penchant for younger men runs in the family.

The veteran actress's 44-year-old writer daughter Tara Newley has also bagged herself a toyboy - 29-year-old roofer Paul Beck.

Joan is proud of the 32-year age gap that divides her from her fifth husband Percy Gibson.

Her mother's daughter: Writer Tara Newley, the daughter of Joan Collins has followed in her mother's footsteps - and bagged herself a younger man, 29-year-old roofer Paul Beck

When asked about the difference in years between her and Percy, 42, the former Dynasty star famously replied: "If he dies, he dies."

Now Tara, 44, Joan's eldest daughter from her second marriage, to actor and singer Anthony Newley has also found love with her own younger, very handy man, who at 29, is fifteen years her junior.

She revealed: "I have done a Joan Collins. I have taken up with someone who is a lot younger than me. But if you fall in love, you fall in love.

"There is not much you can do about it. We have known each other for five years, having been introduced by a mutual friend."

Tara first met Beck - whom she described as "a flat roofer, to be precise" - when she was still living with property man Richard Skeates, the father of her four-year-old son, Weston, named after Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, where she lives.

She also has a nine-year-old daughter, Miel, from her marriage to French composer Michael Adam.

But when her relationship with Skeates ended last April, Tara began dating Beck, who works for a local building firm.

She said: "Like my mother, I've had ups and downs, but I've now found my Prince Charming.

"Paul is great with the kids and it's refreshing he's not from a showbiz background.

"The difference in our ages isn't important. In fact, if Paul is anything like Percy, who has made my mother so very happy, we will have a fantastic life together.

Meanwhile, Tara says she wants to get Joan back on British TV screens and has co-written a sitcom about the publishing industry called So!, in which the former Dynasty siren will play the loopy wife of a wealthy magazine owner.

"She is a terrific comedienne and I'm determined Mum will be back on all our screens again," adds Tara.

"It's going to be shown soon on the internet video site Comedy Box, and we're confident it will get picked up from there."
