While the husbands are busy competing on the pitch, competition is hotting up between the shopaholic WAGS.

Coleen McLoughlin recently showed off her £80,000 Range Rover from Manchester United fiance Wayne Rooney.

But anything Coleen can do, clearly Alex can do better as she showed off her £100,000 Mercedes C class AMG, a Christmas present from her Liverpool player husband Steven Gerrard - and her £1,500 Botox injected handbag.

Hot wheels: Alex Curran has one-upped Coleen McLoughlin with her new £100,000 Mercedes

The top-of-the-range car has ursurped the designer bag as the must-have present of choice for the discerning WAG.

And Alex, 25, showed off the silver car as she went on a shopping trip to her favourite boutique Cricket with daughter Ella dressed in exceedingly high black patent platform boots, which she accessorised with her £1,500 Zagliani python-skin handbag.

The large python-skin bag, which was designed by a former dermatologist has been injected with Botox to make the skin more plump and softer.

It's a much-loved item among the celebrity fraternity. But it begs the question, do the celebrities get their Botox and their bags done at the same time?

She was later seen tottering down the road with one of Cricket's distinctive bags in hand as one of the boutique's employees walked her to her car.

Last month Alex told of her horror as four masked raiders broke into her £3million mansion while her two young daughters slept upstairs.

The 25-year-old was confronted by the intruders after they hammered down a back door at her home.

She said: "It was absolutely terrifying, a horrendous experience.

The robbers escaped with jewellery worth thousands of pounds. It was the sixth raid in 18 months on the home of a Liverpool player.

Gerrard has since employed a security team at the family's home.

So, if I look like a cricket and shop there too I can park a monstrous car on a double yellow line. Fab to know.

Nice to see that WAGS even get to park on double yellow lines without having to pay fines, unlike the rest of us!

Yawn!

Spoilt bimbo goes shopping...

Although I guess it does cost overpaid footballers a lot of dosh to keep said bimbo at their side given the ritual public humilaton she must endure as a result of such men's typical behaviour off the pitch.

(and Ella's outfit is tres cute but where's the hat and gloves? Guess underdressing starts early these days?).

Seriously, why do we have to hear about these brainless bimbos? And before people say well you read it, no I didn't, just wrote this because these 'people' always seem to be on these pages just because they are with some man who gets paid an huge fee for kicking a ball around for 90 mins, and yes I do like football.
