Pop singer Natalie Imbruglia was all smiles last night as she rang in her 33rd birthday at an exclusive London restaurant.

The celebration comes just weeks after she announced her marriage to Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns was over.

Despite her recent heartache, the star arrived at the celebrity haunt in high spirits and beamed as she left with a giant bunch of roses and a Hermes bag in tow.

Flower power: A beaming Natalie Imbruglia arrives at Mr Chow's in London to celebrate her 33rd birthday last night

Natalie returned to London in early January after a trip to Sydney where she was spotted spending time with Daniel over the festive period.

But despite their show of unity, the pair annouced their split just days later.

In a joint statement, the pair said: "While we are very sad that our marriage has ended, we want to make it clear that our parting is amicable and we remain friends.

"This mutual decision has not been taken lightly or quickly.

"However, our career demands and our lives in different parts of the world have brought us to the point where unfortunately this difficult decision was necessary for both of us.

"We have simply grown apart through not being able to spend enough time together."

The couple met at an awards show party in 1999 and married four years later on New Year's Eve in a beachside ceremony in Queensland.

Natalie remained based in the UK, while Daniel lived for much of the time 10,500 miles away in Australia.

Before her marriage Natalie was linked to the American singer Lenny Kravitz and "Friends" actor David Schwimmer.

More recently, she has been linked to comic David Walliams, but insists he is just a friend.

Split: Earlier this month, Natalie split from husband Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns after four years of marriage
