Wayne Rooney gets two team-mates for neighbours on millionaires' row

Updated 08:57am on 19 Feb 2008

Footballer Wayne Rooney is on the verge of a hat-trick - this time a housing one.

The striker is getting two Manchester United teammates as neighbours in what will become a £12million row.

Defender Wes Brown, 28, is about to move into a £4million mansion just yards from the £3.5million mansion which 22-year-old England striker Wayne shares with fiancée Coleen McCoughlin, 21.

And Old Trafford sources revealed midfielder colleague, Owen Hargreaves, 27, and girlfriend Janelle Khouri, 27, are bidding on a £4.25million six-bedroom home currently being built down the lane in well-heeled Prestbury, Cheshire.

Adding even more neighbourly appeal, Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez, 24, has moved into a £3million home just 500 yards away.

A United source told The Sun: "It seems like the whole team is moving to the village.

"Wayne and Coleen have started something here. The estate agents can't believe their luck. Wayne's made up that Wes is moving next door as Coleen's big mates with his wife Leanne.

"Their homes are so close they can enjoy kickabouts in each other's gardens!"

The footballers luxury homes come complete with pools, gyms, and garages for their luxury cars.

Yesterday it was revealed that Wayne and Coleen have reportedly signed an astonishing £2.5million deal for world rights to their wedding.

The couple have landed the biggest such deal in history for the lavish ceremony this summer - eclipsing the £2million paid to Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar last year.

But the proposed wedding has already caused tension among the couple's families, as Coleen has banned Wayne's extended family from attending.

The only members of Rooney's clan that Coleen will allowing to attend the ceremony are his parents and two brothers.
