Updated 12:29pm on 25 Feb 2008

Birthday girl Drew Barrymore put on a show for a crowd of paparazzi last night as she kissed her boyfriend Justin Long in the front seat of his car.

The Charlie's Angels actress and her boyfriend of six months celebrated her 33rd birthday at Mr Chows restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Drew dressed down in jeans, trainers and a t-shirt to have a relaxed night out ahead of the Oscars on Sunday, where Drew is expected to grace the red carpet in a designer gown.

In a nod to her 2001 movie Riding In Cars With Boys, a giggly Drew embraced her 29-year-old actor beau in the front seat of his car in full view of the throng of photographers.

Drew and Justin started dating last August after meeting on the set of the movie adaptation of best-selling book He's Just Not That Into You.

The film, adapted from the relationship guide by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, also stars Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Connolly and Kris Kristofferson.

Justin is Drew's first serious boyfriend since splitting from long-term love, Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti last year.

On Thursday, Drew joined her Charlie's Angels co-star and close pal Cameron Diaz at a pre-Oscars party at Soho House members' club in Los Angeles.

Last week, Drew warned young celebrities to "pull themselves together".

The actress, whose teenage battle with drink and drugs is well-documented, urged troubled stars Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse to get a grip on their troubled lives.

She said: "If you don't pull it together for yourself, no one else will. That's coming from a person who had to try it all and who still loves to have a good time.

"I do believe in 'Work hard, play hard,' but 'Work hard' always comes first, and it did even when I was wild and young."
