Time for an age-defying act: Michael Douglas looked his age as he left Il Sole restaurant in LA on Friday evening

He has spent a fortune on plastic surgery, having the first facelift he will admit to for his wedding seven years ago and is also rumoured to have had a tummy tuck and liposuction.

But as the actor was photographed leaving an LA restaurant last night, he looked every inch his age with mottled skin and deep wrinkles.

The Hollywood heavyweight didn't join his wife, who is 25 years his junior, on the trip Down Under, where she is promoting her new film Death Defying Acts.
