East meets West: Glamorous Natalie Portman dons traditional Indian dress for new film
Updated 10:59am on 17 Mar 2008Natalie Portman looked stunning as she adopted a traditional Indian look on the set of her new film, New York I love you.
Adorned with lavish gold jewellery, the 26-year-old Star Wars actress wore ruby-coloured crystals along her forehead for scenes in which she attends an Indian wedding ceremony in Brooklyn.
The film, an anthology joining several love stories set in the Big Apple, sees Portman playing a Jewish bride, a role she can easily identify with.

The actress plays a Jewish bride for the anthology film set in New York
Born in Israel, Portman moved to the U.S. when she was three-years-old and has always maintained her Jewish roots.
The actress teams up with Scarlet Johansson again after recently co-starring in The Other Boleyn Girl, but this time Scarlett will be behind the camera as a director.
Other stars include Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood and Nick Nolte.
