'I'm clean,' says Kerry Katona as she publishes drug test to prove she's cocaine-free

Updated 18:15pm on 18 Mar 2008

Troubled Kerry Katona has publicly released a clean drugs test result in a bid to prove she isn't taking drugs while pregnant.

The ex-Atomic Kitten star has been dogged by criticism for drinking and smoking during her fourth pregnancy and a former friend told a Sunday tabloid she was even taking cocaine.

But the expectant mum took a drugs test earlier this year to prove to a family court she was clean – and has released her official Certificate of Analysis to Heat magazine to prove it.

The cocaine test was carried out on a strand of her hair – which can carry evidence of recreational drug use for up to six months after being used - and the results are negative.

The move will be something of a triumph for Kerry, who was devastated after a former friend accused her of using cocaine in January – when she was four months pregnant.

“How terrible to give birth to a beautiful baby that then has to be weaned off the drugs that have been pumped into its tiny body”, she said.

Kerry also wants to cancel her MTV reality TV show Crazy In Love - just weeks after it launched.

A source said she is devastated by the criticism she has received for drinking and smoking on the show while pregnant, and is furious with MTV for the way that they have depicted her and husband Mark Croft, according to Star magazine.

Shamed: The reality television star underwent a hynotism session with Marisa Peer on her reality show to beat her addiction to cigarettes

The source said: “She is so appalled at how she and Mark have come across that she wants to stop filming, but she knows she can't because of contractual obligations. Whether they'll have a break to sort this out, only time will tell.”

Kerry told friends and family: “Me and Mark look so bad. Things we've said have been taken out of context and now we look like we're always arguing.”

Kerry, whose fourth child is due in June, has even made a desperate bid to quit smoking by visiting a hypnotist to beat her addiction.

In scenes from the show, Kerry, 27, is seen having one last cigarette before her session with top hypnotist Marisa Peer, and was struggling to accept the need to give up.

"I don't want to stop smoking. I want a fag now," she said.

"I know I'm a good person, just because I smoke it doesn't mean I'm a bad mother."

"I'm going to miss my little friend," she revealed.

Before the session Mark said her decision to quit smoking would help lift her bad press.

"It gives them one last thing to fire at you," he told her before Kerry, 27, agreed.

At the appointment with hypnotist Marisa Peer, Kerry spoke about her addiction.

"The least I smoke is five a day and the most, if I'm depressed, is 20," she said.

After being hypnotised, Kerry then admitted she still wanted to smoke.

Constant craving: Before the session Katona admitted she didn't want to give up cigarettes. Now she wants to halt filming on the show

"I could happily have a cigarette but I won't because I don't need one," she said on her fly-on-the-wall show Kerry Katona: Crazy in Love.

"I'm now a non-smoker."

But the day after the session, Kerry revealed she still craved nicotine.

"The hypnotist thing I don't know if it's working," she confessed.

And while listening to her hypnotherapy tape at home, Kerry couldn't take it in. "I'm bored now," she admitted.

She then imitated smoking with her lip gloss and even asked her six-year-old daughter Molly if she could have a cigarette.

But the sensible little girl replied: "No missy, if you do you're grounded".
