Britney Spears had just one thing on her mind during her upcoming guest appearance on US sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

In a preview clip, which touts the episode as the one "everybody's buzzing about," Britney kicks off her latest television appearance with the words, "Can we have sex and then go shopping?".

Working girl: Britney Spears plays a flirtatious receptionist in an upcoming episode of US sitcom How I Met Your Mother

In the episode, the troubled pop star plays a flirtatious office receptionist, opposite Josh Radnor.

Britney, who spent two days on set last week, called the spot "a blast," and she won rave reviews from the show's cast.

Actress Alyson Hannigan said: "[Britney] nailed her jokes, she's really playing a character. It's so sweet and so endearing, I love her."

Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Barney Stinson, added: "There was not an ounce of the dark side that we've all read so much about."

Costar Jason Segal chimed: "She was hilarious in the table-read, and I got to see her do the run-through as well, and she was great."

It is Britney's first small screen appearance since guest starring on Will & Grace in 2006.

The episode will air in the US on Monday - it not yet scheduled to air in the UK.

You go Brit! I am so tired of the media picking Britney apart. Everyone in the world can look bad if the attempt is good enough. It is the media that will be in her face trying to get her positive side once she clears the bad air. Media ~ God does not like ugly.
