Loose Women look the worse for wear after running amok at TV awards... maybe they should take a lesson from Holly
Updated 19:57pm on 22 Mar 2008The stars of ITV's daytime show Loose Women managed to pull themselves together – albeit looking somewhat worse for wear - after last night's high-jinks at the Royal Television Awards.
Chris Evans' ex-wife Carol McGiffin looked bleary-eyed as she and her colleagues laughed and joked about the previous night's shenanigans, with particular attention to her rowdy antics.

Memories: Carol McGiffin recalls the events of the previous night in detail, while co-host Lynda Bellingham giggles
But it appears that the bravado displayed by Carol last night had deserted her by the time she appeared on the show today lunchtime, as she hung her head in shame, as her co-hosts recalled the previous night's bottom-flashing incident.
Carol appeared to be the ringleader of last night's misbehaviour, as some of the hosts of the ITV daytime show ran amok at the awards show.

Elegance: Presenter Holly Willoughby has her cleavage well under control at last night's Royal Television Society Programme Awards in London
Maybe they should have taken a few tips from Dancing On Ice presenter Holly Willoughby, seen today looking bright-eyed on Alan Titchmarsh's chat show.
Holly was the model of elegance and decorum at last night's Royal Television Society awards.
But sadly, the same could not be said for the elder stateswomen of ITV's flagship daytime show Loose Women, who ran wild, flashing bottoms, and flesh-coloured support underwear.

Holly kept it classy in a floor-length, sequinned gown with lacy panel which showed a peek of her trim stomach.
But in stark contrast, the Loose Women presenter showed her lacy thong in its entirety and much of her bottom in an unseemly flash to waiting photographers.

Lowering the tone: Loose Women's Carol flashes her bottom, while presenter Holly gives her a lesson in how to maintain a dignified front
And not to be outdone, co-presenter Denise Welch, who stars in BBC's Waterloo Road as a wayward teacher, showed off her nude-coloured support underwear.
The women's raucous behaviour was on show at the annual awards show, which took place in a glamorous ceremony at London's Grosvenor House, attended by stars from ITV's The Bill, Holby City, and Coronation Street.
Scroll down for more...

Raucous: Denise Welch certainly got a little loose last night, as she hitched up her lime green frock, to show her nude-coloured support pants, and kissed a young man on the steps outside the Grosvenor Hotel, in London

Support: Denise appears to be doing a version of the can-can on the steps of the Grosvenor hotel, and reveals she's getting a lot of help from her support pants

Wardrobe malfunction: Loose Women's Andrea McLean's outfit hangs decidedly loose, as her plunging neckline fails to hold her in
Their show was nominated in the Best Daytime programme category, but lost out to Come Dine With Me.
Which may have prompted Carol and the rest of the girls to drown their sorrows.
Other news from the awards saw top soap Coronation Street lose out to The Bill and BBC show Holby City in the Soap And Continuing Drama category.
Cult show The Mighty Boosh beat The Thick Of It and Peep Show in the Situation Comedy And Comedy Drama category, while Stephen Fry's quiz show QI won the Entertainment Award.
Host Eamonn Holmes described the BBC2 show as a "great British programme, incredibly old-fashioned but definitely part of the zeitgeist".
ITV had picked up just nine nominations for the awards, while the BBC and Channel Four had 64 between them.

Earlier in the evening, the other Loose Women, Colleen, Jacqui Brambles, Jayne McDonald and Andrea looked glamorous as they posed together

Speed freaks: James May and Richard Hammond of Top Gear which won an award last night
James May and Richard Hammond collected the Features And Lifestyle Series award for Top Gear minus their presenter Jeremy Clarkson.
May joked: "Actually Hammond and I were only here because we were told to be."
But Hammond added: "We would like to say because it's a rare opportunity, thank you very much."
Channel Four triumphed in the non-fiction category with Meet The Natives winning the Formatted Documentary Award, You're Not Splitting Up My Family taking the Observational Documentary prize and Come Dine With Me beating ITV's Loose Women to Best Daytime Programme.
Andrew Marr walked away with two awards for Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain - for History programme - and Best Presenter.
Matthew Macfadyen won the Best Actor gong for what judges described as a "compelling performance" in Secret Life.
David Tennant, also nominated in the Best Actor category, lost out a second time when The Street beat BBC hit show Doctor Who to the coveted Best Series award.

Eye, eye: Geordie duo Ant and Dec catch up with pal Holly, but Dec seemed curiously distracted by Holly's glamorous dress
Sally Hawkins took the Best Actress Award for her role in ITV's adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion, while Channel 4's fictional examination of Muslim extremism, Britz, won Best Drama Serial.
Meanwhile at least one half of Ant and Dec couldn't keep his eyes off Holly last night. Declan Donnelly was caught taking a sneaky peek at the TV presenter's... um... assets at the Royal Television Society awards.
Holly, 27, said last night that she's keen to start a big family, adding: "I'm still young but I want to have 10 kids. One a year."
Presumably she wants to have them with her husband Dan Baldwin.

Bright-eyed: Holly Willoughby looked rather more bushy-tailed during an appearance on Alan Titchmarsh's talk show today
Also at the awards were Mighty Boosh partners Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt, who seemed delighted with their gong for best comedy.
In the comedy category, David Mitchell and Robert Webb were cheered enthusiastically when they stepped up to collect the prize for Comedy Performance for Peep Show, while Harry Hill scooped Best Entertainment Performance for Harry Hill's TV Burp.
Harry was described by judges as a performer who "has masterfully moved his show from the edge to the heart of the schedule".
Veteran nature presenter Sir David Attenborough was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award.
Lorraine Heggessey, chair of the Programme Awards Committee, described Sir David as "the most trusted broadcaster in Britain," crediting him with raising awareness of the threat of climate change.
Speaking in a pre-recorded video clip, he said: "When I joined the BBC 56 years ago there was only one professional television organisation in this country, I imagine in the world, and that of course was this one."
He continued: If there is one award that one values in television, it is the first one, it is this one."

I think loose women is brillant- I record it everyday so even if I am not around I can watch it anytime!! I love listening to all there opions on current topics and normally agree with them- I think zoey is too kind for her own good and is looking for something that does not exist - the perfect man.Jane is the most realistic on life..Denise and Carol are fun but need to pull the reins in sometimes!! Andrea needs to let her hair down a bit more and lisa and linda are both lovely- Sherrie seems a bit lost and lonely at the moment may 2010 bring her a lot of happiness cos I think she really deserves it. Coleen is just so funny I could watch her pulling faces for hours!!

I think all of the main ladies on Loose Women are brilliant, as they all have their own point of view, which is surely the idea of the show. There are certain people who come on the show who are really irritating, but all you have to do is switch off. Common sense isn't it? especially as you work, you only want to watch quality programmes when you get home to relax.
I would like to say that the producers have made a very good choice with Ruth. I think she comes over as very sincere and professional as well as being sensible and very attractive to look at.

When im not working and have packed my husband off to work I settle down to watch you all. I enjoy every moment especially Carol and Coleen.
My message to you all we are all human at the end of the day and do things when we are out for a night so why worry.
Linda im going to see you at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle doing Calender Girls Im so looking forward to it as the local Business women of Morpeth actually did a calender for breast cancer. I myself and some of my staff were involved it was a great laugh. It would be appreciative if You would sign our calender so that i can keep it. (i DID THIS AS MY MUM HAD BREAST CANCER).
Regards
Gill

I rarely missed aprogramme for years. Now I rarely watch the programme.
The 'girls' are so scruffy it is unreal Colleen being the worst, and I do believe this show has now passed its 'sellby date.' Such a shame to win an award and then make a real spectical of yourself.

Loose Women are just a load of drunks who should know better at their age.It is surprising that some of them are in relationships as the show slags off men for the whole time it is on air.

I am an admirer of Jane McDonald. My husband and I went to see her Show at the Beck Theatre in Hayes on 23rd November, and she was talking to the audience when there was a sudden explosion and all the lights went out! The lights then went on in the audience and Jane came down into the audience and talked without the aid of a mic, taking the micky and laughing, showing off her engagement ring and generally entertaining the public. She was a true Professional. Thank you Jane for a wonderful evening.

I've spent 15 minutes trying to find the correct place to vote on the ITV Awards with no success so far. I know I'm elderly and not very computer literate but surely you could make it a little easier for the likes of me.
Loose Women would get my vote every time - if only I could find out how to do it.

I thought some of the questions Andrea asked John Prescott were very inappropriate, rude and unprofessional, especially when she asked him what he thought his wife saw in him. The fact that he attempted to answer her showed true humility, but that is one of the virtues of the working class.

Carol and Denise should remember they are role models on loose women. And I'm sure there partners and families are really proud of there antics, not a pretty site. Loose women has definately gone down in the stakes for daytime entertainment....

Not surprising Carol's a single woman - what self - respecting guy would fancy her? My brother Scot and I both love the show Loose Women - especially Jane, Lynda, Sherrie, Coleen and Denise - my favourite actress and sexy blonde. Carol wants to remember she's near 50 and show some decorum - if she can even spell it!
