Pregnant Angelina expects a BOY and a GIRL to add to her 'rainbow' brood

Updated 14:56pm on 22 Mar 2008

With four children in tow and two on the way, a trip to the corner shop is no easy feat.

But Angelina Jolie, in her billowing maxi dress, managed to look serene as she led her brood, all carrying treats, back home.

The 32-year-old actress, who is said to be expecting twins, is said to be "ecstatic" to be expecting a boy and a girl.

A source told American magazine In Touch: "They'll be having a boy and a girl.

"Because she took fertility treatment to help her ovulate, her babies are fraternal.

"They're ecstatic. She can't wait."

As she walked around New Orleans she carried her daughter Shiloh, 22 months, and held the hand of her three-year-old adopted daughter Zahara.

Her two adopted sons, Maddox, six, and Pax, four, tucked into bags of snacks as they followed her back to the family home.

Miss Jolie and the children's father Brad Pitt, have been helping 600 volunteers on a rejuvenation project in the area in the aftermath of 2005's Hurricane Katrina.

The family are staying in their £1.7 million home in the French Quarter while Brad works with his charity organisation Make It Right.

Angelina is believed to be carrying twins, with new reports claiming the 32-year-old has just discovered she is expecting a boy and a girl.

Angelina is planning to give birth in France and is currently bidding on a £10million seaside property close to the French Riviera, according to reports

She will join a list of Hollywood stars who have twins in recent times including Julia Roberts, Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross and Jennifer Lopez, who welcomed Max and Emme last month.

Of her expanding "rainbow" brood, Angelina has said: "Our family has grown quickly. We have a lot of responsibility together... but every challenge has brought us closer."

Rumours here suggest that the purchase of the property in France is dependent on planning permission for a "motocross" track in the back garden. Please - if you choose to come to France - respect the French way of life! Peace and tranquillity is one of the many reasons people move here. Hollywood celebs STAY AWAY!
