Britney Spears' 16-year-old pregnant sister Jamie Lynn showed off her sparkling new ring yesterday following news of her engagement last week.

The Zoey 101 star kept her buddy baby bump under wraps in an oversized top and jogging shorts while on a shopping trip in her home town of Kentwood, Louisiana.

A day earlier, Jamie Lynn wore a tee emblazoned with the phrase 'The Rumors Are True' during a trip to Babies "R" Us in a nod to the wedding buzz.

Her boyfriend Casey Aldridge, 19, proposed to the actress last week, three months after she revealed she was expecting.

His cousin, Tina Robinson, told American magazine Us Weekly: "They probably weren't expecting [the proposal] to be, like, right now, but with her being pregnant, that really pushed it up."

It is not yet know if the teen couple will wed before or after Jamie Lynn delivers.

The teen is looking more like her older sister than ever, and despite being on opposite sides of the country yesterday, they were both wearing matching hair styles.

In ripped jeans and cowboy boots, the Toxic star came out from behind some trees to surprise the waiting paparazzi with a big smile in LA.

Yesterday the singer, 49, gave a message to the media to leave Britney alone.

She also recently revealled she has Britney's latest release on high rotation, saying: "I actually love Britney Spears's new album. I usually work out to her record."
