Green light: Lily Allen, pictured here in last month, has been signed up for a second series
The pop star has received the green light for eight more episodes of her 45-minute programme.
Lily Allen and Friends drew just 255,000 viewers for the first episode in mid-February, which fell to just 173,000 at the beginning of last month.
But the figure has since crept up to 300,000 viewers for more recent episodes.
Allen said: "I'm thrilled that we're going to make a second series of the show, it's been such a laugh.
"I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who tuned in and I can't wait to film series two."
BBC Three controller Danny Cohen praised the 22-year-old, saying she had "developed astoundingly well as a TV host in just a few weeks".
Lily was forced to defend the show after some members of the audience walked out during a taping of the first episode.
She wrote on her blog: "Due to it being the first show we've done we ran over a little."
"Naturally a small number of the audience had to catch the last trains back to wherever they came from. "
She added: "Standing in a hot studio for two hours watching me fluff my lines is not my idea of fun but they seemed to enjoy it."

Excited: Lily says she's 'thrilled' to be returning to BBC 3

Tough questions: Lily Allen and Friends featured star guests including US actor Cuba Gooding Junior

She's an untalented, show off! Why does the BBC keep employing this lot of rubbish - Allen, Osborne, Wright, Ross etc. etc. Amazing what the right connections will do! Still, with plummeting audience figures it's obvious that the public are becoming increasingly discerning and will press the OFF button when confronted with this vacuous, meaningless, so-called entertainment.

Good to see the Beeb again ignoring the choice of the public who are avoiding this vacuous program in their droves and instead ploughing on regardless, ah well, I suppose both viewers will be happy.

I suppose she is thrilled about this as I cant see her music career lasting much longer, she was really just a novelty act. As for the BBC they seem to keep giving the untalented job, I don't know if this is because they are friends of the producers, but the idea seems to be to grind the public down so that they will eventually accept a "star". A fine example being Ian Wright, he has been given so many tv and radio shows yet he seems to have no presenting skills whatsoever. Why?
