Naomi could be banned from BA over her T5 tantrum

Naomi Campbell could be banned from British Airways for allegedly spitting at a policeman in a row over a missing designer bag.

The model was arrested on suspicion of assaulting the officer after a furious row with cabin staff.

She had demanded a flight of 300 passengers was delayed because of problems with her baggage at Heathrow's Terminal 5.

Released: Naomi Campbell leaves Heathrow Police Station. She had been arrested and dragged off a plane in handcuffs

Yesterday the airline, which has a policy of "zero tolerance" towards air rage, said it was "reviewing" whether the 37-year-old could fly with it again.

Witnesses claimed Miss Campbell was "virtually dragged" off the plane in handcuffs on Thursday afternoon while the plane waited for take-off.

She is said to have screamed and waved her arms after being told one of her two Louis Vuitton bags had not been loaded on to the aircraft.

After a "sustained" period of abuse, BA staff called police but the model allegedly continued her tirade and spat at the police officer.

Bad day at the airport: Foul-tempered supermodel Naomi Campbell seen just after she was released on bail

Yesterday, more details emerged after her fellow passengers eventually arrived at Los Angeles.

Miss Campbell had apparently been told to stay on the plane without her bag, which would be forwarded, or to catch a later flight.

She is said to have rejected both options, demanding that her bag was found.

First-class passenger John Miller, 42, said: "She was moaning but we were all in the same boat.

"Just because she's a celebrity, it doesn't mean her bags can't get lost too. She just made it worse for everyone else. As well as lost luggage, we had to endure almost a two-hour delay."

Miss Campbell emerged smiling from Heathrow police station in the early hours yesterday after several hours of questioning.

Her spokesman Celina Aponte said: "Once on the plane, she was told one bag was missing.

"British Airways decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight and called the police, and forcibly ejected her.

"So far as we are aware BA have still failed to offer any explanation as why her bag went missing."

Miss Campbell also claimed the plane was not held up on her behalf because "there was a delay already".

Temper tantrum: Last year she completed five days community service for attacking her maid

The supermodel, known for her fiery temper, had been due to attend a memorial service in the U.S. but her spokesman said she "may well miss" it as she had "no plans" to leave the country.

A friend added last night: "She is gutted about the whole situation because she had been a good customer of British Airways for more than 30 years."

No charges have been brought against Miss Campbell, who was released on bail until May.

Last night a BA spokesman said: "We deal with cases on an individual basis and take appropriate action where necessary.

"All incidents of abusive or disruptive behaviour towards fellow passengers or staff are taken extremely seriously and will not be tolerated."

The shambolic opening of Terminal 5 also hit chart star Calvin Harris when he flew in from the U.S.

The DJ, who had a hit single with Acceptable In The '80s, put the only copy of his second album in a laptop which is in one of 10,500 bags caught up in the chaos.
