Renee Zellweger has v. good night with heavy hitter Harvey Weinstein

Instead, she had to settle for dinner with film producer Harvey Weinstein at London's Cipriani restaurant.
But, judging by the broad grin on her face, the Bridget Jones star clearly had a whale of a time with the rotund film svengali.

Of course, he's one of Hollywood's heaviest hitters, so it wouldn't hurt to have him as a friend.
But, unlike her brief meeting with Sir Paul McCartney at the Hamptons last year, her meeting with Harvey Weinstein was purely platonic.

The Texan-born actress fuelled speculation of a romance with the former Beatle after onlookers spotted the pair chatting closely at an event held at the exclusive location.
Last week, Renee arrived in London for the funeral of film director Anthony Minghella.
Joined by Hollywood actors including Jude Law, the pain of losing her close friend was clearly etched on her face as she left the ceremony.
