New mother Myleene Klass: 'I only get four hours sleep a night'

Working mother: Myleene Klass, at the Classical Brit Awards last night, has revealled she only gets four hours sleep a night

Classical music may have suffered from a rather stuffy image in the past but Myleene Klass has done her best to dispel that theory.

The former Hear'Say singer stole the show as she arrived to present the nominations for the Classical Brit Awards last night.

The 30-year-old dazzled the crowd in a beige figure-hugging Reiss dress and matching Louboutin shoes.

She was joined by a host of other glamorous stars from the classical music world including Andrew Lloyd Webber's ex-wife Sarah Brightman, Natasha Marsh and 20-year-old starlet Hayley Westenra.

However, Miss Klass, who only gave birth to daughter Ava last August, admitted that her punishing work schedule as a TV and radio presenter and model was beginning to take its toll.

She said: "I think the 'yummy mummy' tag is really funny. I don't feel that yummy first thing in the morning or during the night feeds. Mums with multiple children - I just don't know how they do it.

"My husband is planning to extend the family in true Irish style - he is going for a whole football team.

"So many people want to be a singer but it's the lifestyle they go for. But it's also about getting up at four in the morning, doing a night feed and then going to work then getting home at midnight. It's a tough job.

"I worked so hard to get the opportunity so I have to try and pace myself. Some people look at my diary and go 'good lord what are you doing'. Other people look at my diary and work it even harder!

"Getting back in shape was not top of my priorities. I want to be a good mummy first and foremost and not worry about which bits wiggle.

"I have a lot of extra pairs of hands. I'm very lucky in that respect."

However the singer was almost upstaged by the most unlikely of guests - Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's 48-year-old ex-wife Sarah Brightman, who arrived looking like a woman half her age.

It was announced that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber will receive the award for outstanding achievement at this year's Classical Brit Awards.

Lloyd Webber's musical legacy includes hits such as Evita and Starlight Express which have helped him amass an estimated fortune of 750million.

The award comes almost 25 years after the 60-year-old composed Requiem Mass which helped propel him to fame throughout the music world in 1985.

He has also won three Grammy Awards, an Oscar, six Olivier Awards and a Golden Globe in recognition of his music.

"I am absolutely thrilled that my music is being recognised at this year's Classical Brit Awards and delighted to be receiving the award for outstanding achievements in music," he said.

During the event at the Mayfair Hotel in London, the British Phonographic Industry revealed the rest of the nominations.

Leading the nominees is British tenor Alfie Boe, 34, who is a contender for both male artist of the year and album of the year.

Competing alongside him for the same prize is Mexican Rolando Villazon, 36, and 2002 winner Sir Colin Davis.

Female artist of the year will be decided between Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt, 49, British cellist Natalie Clein, 31, and Russian soprano Anna Netrebko, 36.

Soprano Kate Royal, 28, who performed with Sir Paul McCartney on his album Ecce Cor Meum has received a debut nomination for Young British Classical Performer along with violinist Nicola Benedetti, 20, and Lawrence Power.

Popular wartime drama Atonement is in line for yet another award, this time nominated for Soundtrack of the Year alongside Blood Diamond, alongside Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

The winners will be announced on the 8th May at the Royal Albert Hall.

What exactly makes this woman so special there are thousands of woman looking after their children on little or no sleep and working full time jobs. She chose this lifestyle and it is apparent she loves being in the public eye if she is now finding it too much then maybe she should of thought of that before hand.

I'm sorry but did someone call her a 'yummy mummy' or did she just decide she was one?
A sad indictment of our society that a relatively untalented person can revive a poor career by standing under a shower in a jungle in a bikini. She is rather pathetic if she thinks that that can be considered 'working very hard'
